Marfalous Friend

Affectionately known as Nugget

Forever Home at Remember Me Rescue

Meet Nugget

Marfalous Friend, affectionately known as Nugget, is one of the beloved senior residents who call Remember Me Rescue home.

Nugget spent nearly her entire life with the same owner, who cared deeply for her and her son, Hero's Crown. When her owner was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she made sure both horses would have a safe, loving home for the rest of their lives. That promise brought Nugget and Hero to Remember Me Rescue.

Today, at 30 years young, Nugget is enjoying retirement on her own terms. She's a little plump, plenty sassy, and happiest taking long naps, rolling in the grass, enjoying shredded carrots, or being pampered by the people who adore her. Just don't approach her with horse wormer. She'll let you know exactly how she feels about that!

Although Nugget recently said goodbye to her beloved son, Hero, she continues to be surrounded by the love and care her original owner wanted for her.

Nugget's story is a beautiful reminder that sanctuary isn't simply a place for horses to grow old. It's a promise that they will always have someone looking out for them.
