Adoption fees vary by horse and typically range from $500 to $3,500. These fees help offset the cost of feed, veterinary and farrier care, training, and the ongoing care of horses in our program.

The majority of our Thoroughbreds come directly from racing or race training and are not suitable for beginner riders. They generally require an experienced rider, often with the guidance of a trainer. Occasionally, we may have a horse suited to a less experienced rider.

An approved adoption application must be on file before scheduling a visit. There is a $20 non-refundable application fee, and approved applications remain valid for one calendar year.

Unfortunately, we cannot hold horses. We encourage prospective adopters to complete the application process in advance so they're ready to schedule a visit when a horse catches their eye.

Absolutely! Pre-purchase veterinary examinations are welcome and are arranged at the prospective adopter's expense.

Yes! We welcome out-of-state adopters. Virtual appointments may be available on a case-by-case basis. We may request recent videos of your riding and groundwork experience to help determine whether a horse is a suitable match.

Yes. Under our adoption contract, horses may be returned to Remember Me Rescue. We encourage adopters to contact us first so we can explore possible solutions. If a return is necessary, we'll coordinate the arrangements. A $500 return fee applies.
